Today, I want to tell you about the awesome tour I had of Nissan Stadium!
About Nissan Stadium

Nissan Stadium opened in 1999. From 1999-2002, it was known as Adelphia Coliseum. From 2002-2006, it was known as The Coliseum. From 2006-2015, it was known as LP Field. From 2015 to now, it’s known as Nissan Stadium.
The stadium has a capacity of 69,143. It is the home of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, as well as the Tennessee State University Tigers. It was once the home of Nashville SC (MLS). It also hosts the Music City Bowl, concerts, monster truck rallies, CMA Music Festival, Music City Grand Prix, and hosted the 2022 NHL Stadium Series.

Nissan Stadium is located in downtown Nashville, TN, on the banks of the Cumberland River. It’s an easy drive to and from downtown, and there is also a pedestrian bridge that you can walk across. I think it’s one of the best stadium locations in the NFL!
The Tour
The tour took place on a non event day, so the only people there were employees and us! Our tour guide, Brad, was very knowledgeable about the stadium and team. He told us all sorts of fun facts that I never knew and as we go over the tour, I’ll share with you!
Press Room

The first place we went to was the press room. As someone who watches every Titans game, it was a really cool experience to get to stand where Coach Vrabel, Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, and other current and past players do their postgame interviews!
The room itself is pretty simple. There’s a lot of chairs for the press, then on stage there’s a place for players and coaches to sit, and a podium for them to speak at. That may not sound very exciting, but it’s not really meant to be exciting. It’s a room where the team can talk to the press.
Locker Room
This may have been the part I was the most excited about! The locker room! Where players prepare for the game ahead, and then reflect on the game that just happened. Where the coach stands in the middle and gives an epic speech. How could a fan not be excited to get to be in here?
The locker room is massive! However, it was just three of us. I’d imagine when it’s full of Titans players and coaches, it would feel a bit more cramped.
The lockers are all big, there’s banners for the Titans conference and division championships, as well as their trip to the Super Bowl, and there’s motivational quotes everywhere you look. Being in here was such an incredible experience!
Fun Fact! When a player leaves the locker room, there is a sensor above the door that scans a chip in the player’s helmet and shoulder pads. When the player returns, the scanner then scans the chips again and tracks the wear and tear the player took on during the game!

T-Rac’s Home
This was a bummer. Not because we didn’t like the room, but because we didn’t really get to see it. T-Rac was filming in there and, as a result, the most we could do was look in through the door. Obviously, due to filming, we also didn’t get to meet T-Rac. The room looks really cool (from the door) and the props were nice to see, but I really wish we could’ve gone in!
Fun Fact! T-Rac is only played by one guy! That’s right, on the field, promotional videos, school visits, etc., it’s just one guy! Maybe you knew that already, but I always assumed there were multiple T-Racs.
Booth

Another room I was very excited to see was the booth! Where writers and broadcasters sit during the game! This is where Mike Keith shouts, “TOUCHDOWWWN TITANS!”
The room is very long and doesn’t really have too much to see inside of it. I’m sure on game day, when the room is crowded, broadcasters are shouting, phones are ringing, and the tvs are going, it’s a sight to see!
The room was cool, as a fan, but if you weren’t a fan, I’d imagine you’d just think it looks like a basic office building room. However, the highlight of this room is the view! Just look at this!

Easily, the best seats in the house!
Bowl
The part of the stadium you see on game day. The field looks to be well kept. The screens are massive! The dollhouses are… fun! There, I said it. I know a lot of fans complain about them, but I think they look nice!
I love this part of the stadium! The blue and red seats, the white “TITANS” seats, the red stadium lights, the big screens on each end… I think it’s very nice! The view of the downtown Nashville skyline makes it even better!

The bad part is the concourses. They’re pretty narrow and the concrete is showing it’s age. The elevator to get to the upper sections was slow, and I can imagine it causes a massive line on game day.
What I did like in the concourses are the pictures of former and current Titans greats!

Pro Shop
The Pro Shop can be accessed from inside or outside the stadium and is open year round! They have a good selection of Tennessee Titans merchandise. The shop is small and the prices are very high, but I’ve never been to a stadium where the merchandise wasn’t expensive.
Final Thoughts

While Nissan Stadium is dated and doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the newer stadiums, I still like it! The location is amazing and you can tell that they try to keep the stadium as nice as they can. While it’s not the nicest stadium, it’s not bad either.
I know the Titans are in talks about a new stadium and I really like what I’ve seen so far, but Nissan Stadium will always have a special place in my heart. From the Music City Miracle to Derrick Henry’s 99 yard touchdown run, I have so many memories of great Titans moments in that stadium! The tour was amazing, and if Nissan Stadium is torn down for a new stadium, I’ll always be grateful that I got to go behind the scenes and see things that you wouldn’t normally get to see!

Titan Up!
